The following papers are shared thoughts about serving in ministry. The toil of serving is a delight but can also be disheartening at the same time. But whether it is a delight or disheartening, it is a great privilege to serve God’s people. Be reminded that the Lord is using you to meet the needs of His people as you toil among them and identify with them.
“The complete pastor’s life will be an epitome of the lives of his people, and they will turn to his preaching as men do to David’s psalms, to see themselves and their sorrows, as in a mirror. Their needs will be the reason for his griefs.”1 Remain faithful brothers! Take great pleasure in being used as an instrument for His glory among His people!
1 Peter 5:1 Therefore, I urge elders among you, as your fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and one who is also a fellow partaker of the glory that is to be revealed: 2 shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not with greed but with eagerness; 3 nor yet as domineering over those assigned to your care, but by proving to be examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
